Rachel in DC

I am a third-year doctoral student at Old Dominion University in Dr. Richard Lander's lab. I received my B.S. in Psychology from Penn State University in 2007 where my research interests were mainly in Cognitive Psychology. I spent most of my time in Dr. David Rosenbaum's Lab for Cognition and Action on a series of studies regarding how people choose to organize spaces in order to complete tasks. I also spent some time in Dr. Michael Wenger's Vision, Memory, and Computational Neuroscience Laboratory working on the mfVEP project which focused on contrast perception. After gradution, I was employed at Penn State in the Center for Language Science (CLS) with Dr. Judy Kroll where I worked as a research assistant on a series of studies on bilingual deaf populations.

Following graduation, my research interests shifted to I/O Psychology with a focus on training and selection. My thesis invloves learner control in an online training program, and my future research plans include more work in the area of learner control as well as adaptive training.

Current areas of interest include:

  • Online Training
